2023 United Auto Workers Strike

UAW members united as they launched a historic strike, demanding fair wages, better working conditions, and job security.

The Washington Post sent me out to speak to striking workers at auto factories.

On Feb 13 2023, a gunman walked into Michigan State University, killing three and wounding five others.

I was on-site, and on assignment for The Washington Post.

In 2021, Mel Tucker became one of the highest-paid coaches in college football history, the 10-year, $95 million contract from MSU was the third largest contract at a public college.

Brenda Tracy, a prominent anti-sexual violence advocate, names Tucker in a complaint in which she alleges a pattern of inappropriate behavior and sexual harrassment.

A freshman was arrested at a residence hall after multiple residents spotted him with firearms in his room. But the story does not end there.

What follows is a tale of negligent instituitions working together to enforce policies that translated into a year of fear and paranoia for students and housing student-employees.

For this investigation, I collected dozens of hours of testimony and interview material from a wide array of sources— from terrified witnesses, public health experts, to ghost gun manufacturers at the forefront of challenging the Federal Government.

2020 & 2021

After a grueling six month-long investigation, I discovered that the National University of Singapore, one of Asia’s top colleges, had been making a concerted effort to silence sexual violence survivors by employing campus security officers to interrogate them for talking to the press and asking invasive questions during disciplinary hearings.

The catch? One of the campus officers had been convicted in 2019 for forging victim testimony to close a sexual assault case early during her time in the Singapore Police Force.

As a result of my series of investigative articles, I was interrogated by the Singapore police.

Dec 2020

After a series of Instagram stories popped up accusing Cherry Discotheque, the alt-darling of the Singaporean nightlife, of discriminatory hiring practices, underpaying their workers and ignoring mask mandates, I went to investigate.

Like most corporations, Cherry Discotheque was indeed engaged in terrible behavior. But it’s not about the what— it’s about the how. Featuring an explosive interview with manager of Cherry Discotheque, From the Depths of The Cherry Pit is my first exposé, and remains one of my most widely read pieces.

When a trans student, Ashlee, went on Reddit and wrote a scathing indictment of her high school for allegedly threatening her with expulsion were she to not lower her Hormone Replacement Therapy dosage, and barring her from classes unless she cut her hair and wore the male uniform, LGBTQ rights activists staged a protest outside the Ministry of Education building.

3 protestors were arrested following the protest.

It’s not snitching, it’s whistleblowing.
